The ancient folk dancing Tradition of England, Morris Dancing, is a colourful and exciting activity for all people of all genders and nationalities to get involved in. We dance at college bars and pubs around the City of Durham and are currently the only (known to us at least) University Morris Dancing Team in the world.

Contrary to specious caricature, the Morris Dancing Tradition is not simply a pining activity of uchronian retrospectivity for the bitter-sweet of days that were, but instead of utopian imaginings; to fulfil the vision of another Morris, William Morris, who with the arrogance of youth, determined to do no less than to transform the world with Beauty. If we succeed in some small way, if only in one small corner of the world, amongst the men and women we love, then we shall count ourselves blessed, and blessed, and blessed, and the work goes on.
